It seems hard to believe that we just put another decade behind us. I remember the big Y2K, run for your life, stroke of midnight the world will end and there will be complete pandemonium if any of the world is left standing. It's really amazing to look back and see what has happened and to remember - and I'm not that old!
Looking back at this last year more closely it really has been a good year. It has been exceptionally different than other years with the birth of our first child in April. In July, my oldest sister got married. And also in July I became a first-time aunt to a beautiful little niece. This last year had also brought some interesting adventures with James' work. He had to go away for over a month to Dawson Creek, and for just over a week to Whistler. Fortunately, I was able to travel to both of those locations with my MIL to visit him. It was an absolute blast, and I honestly enjoyed the time I got to spend and bond with her. We are still needing to somehow get James to go work out of town somewhere warm and tropical, so that alas we'd have to go visit him there too!
In August, Zoe & I were also able to travel up to Kelowna for Granny's 80th birthday party. Unfortunately, James was up in Dawson Creek during that time, so he was unable to attend. It was great to see family, and reflect on the remarkable woman my Granny has been in these last 80 years, and hopefully several more!
In November, we went away to Birch Bay for our second annual girls weekend. It was different having the two newest little girls come along! Good thing we didn't have boys! :p Once again though, I have yet to pack a suitcase for James, Nicole & Zoe! The way it has worked out it has only been Nicole & Zoe!
I am definately looking forward to what 2010 will hold. In 2 short weeks, we will be moving as James & I have purchased a house with his mom. The added space will be nice, and we will have a yard for Zoe to grow into.
I am also looking forward to the olympics coming, and although I won't be attending any events, I do plan on plunking my butt down infront of the TV for 2 weeks.
I am not looking forward to returning to work as right now I have the greatest job in the world. But it will be an interesting challenge learning to balance working and raising a child.
2009 brought me a wonderful daughter that I'm madly in love with, a closer relationship with my husband, and a more personal relationship with God.

I enjoyed this post Nicole. God has blessed you this year in many ways (healthy new baby, great post-pregnancy recovery, provision, new house... etc) and definitely brought challenges into your life to bring you closer to Him! Amen, Praise the Lord!
